Last weekend’s trip to JP was intended to be an adventure as we set off on a road trip to the far west of Singapore (almost like going to Malaysia) and we were surprised at how much fun we had in that mall. We spent 2 hours there chomping on yakitori, having teh o pengs and just walking around aimlessly into any and every shop.

This weekend, it was because I had to get the boy to hand-deliver* a package to a customer in Jurong West and we decided to pop by Jurong Point again since it was just around the corner to have another cup of teh o peng on such a hot day.

* If you really want to know, there was an unexpected blunder made by my logistics peeps so it basically translates to in-charge of department i.e. me having to make a personal delivery. Well, we could roll it over to Monday’s despatch schedule but our customer was leaving town tonight so we had to 亲自出马, not that I mind at all. It’s all part of the ClubCouture service experience that I’m really proud of  :)

And yes, I’m super thankful for the boyfriend who has always accompanied me on such missions and for being the one to run up to ring the bell while I wait in the car. And for always volunteering to be my freelance odd-job labourer on occasions when we have way too many packages to handle. (Okay la, before it sounds like I’m abusing him, it totals up to less than 5 occasions to date!!)

ANYWAYS, mushy stuff aside,  I was REALLY CRAVING cupcakes so we went to…

Just that I got a little too greedy and forgot to take a picture of my super yummy banana cupcake with caramel icing BEFORE I started to devour it.

And oh, an extract from my conver with the boy this morning when we were making weekend plans:

“Not fair. ALL MY FRIENDS are faster than me in Diablo 3 because their wives and girlfriends allow them to play ALL THE TIME!!”

Off to dinner with his folks now, Happy Sunday peeps!

But it’s OKAY. Because I bought tickets to 21 Jump Street. HELLO CHANNING TATUM. I bought another ticket in case the boyfriend makes it back from sea in time to catch the movie too, but if he doesn’t, it’s totally fine. I’m more interested in my imaginary boyfriend as affectionately termed by the girls.

Anyway we had a sleepover last weekend. ..

at J’s serviced apartment at Capella. It was GOOD. I mean, what’s better than spending time with your girls at Sentosa with bottles of sparkling water, Chanel nail polishes and plush Sealy mattresses… sounds very Blair Waldrof right? Haha. Until you hear about the Macdonalds for dinner and Nissin cup noodles for supper lol.

Life has been going by really fast. An insane amount of work and swapping of responsibilities and roles. This post is way overdue cause I have been slaving my life away with 15 hour work days (hello, it’s FRIDAY and I’m in the office at 7pm!! #justsaying) and in a way, every time I write here, it seems like I’m writing about ClubCouture only. I super love, love, love the fact that the boy shares the same religious view as me, or rather, the lack of it.  The thing is… he’s a lot more NOT into a certain faith than me so we end up having important discussions over dinner about the church of the flying spaghetti monster, LaVeyan Satanism and what exactly constitutes as terrorism.  A bit too intense for dinner talk sometimes, but oh well, at least we agree on the fundamentals – politics, religion and sex.

This trip’s honestly very tiring – we had 15 hour work days in the office, but otherwise very satisfying. We planned so much, did a lot and accomplished much more.

I’m really super thankful for the amazing partners <3 Mad love ‘em.

I spent a wonderful Sunday at 1-Caramel with an ex-boss turned amazing friend yesterday – from afternoon tea to an unexpected wine tasting session with fine cheese and all that jazz. 6 hours of girl talk (from men to houses to politics to career issues to just about everything under the sun) and a few glasses of wine later, I left Rochester feeling really thankful about all the opportunities and people life has thrown me thus far.

Oh, oh oh, we’ve launched some gorgeous, gorgeous, GORGEOUS dresses at ClubCouture.

Okay, I actually drafted this post last night, then fell asleep and now it’s 714am and I got to RUN. Hope there’s nooooooo jammmmmmmm!

We do know what we don’t like – we don’t like driving more than 5 minutes to the nearest expressway entrance/exit, he doesn’t like tall developments, I don’t like estates that are extremely built up with 2-3 condos right next to 10-20 HDB blocks, he doesn’t like induction cookers, I don’t like small bathrooms, we both don’t like houses facing the main road, he doesn’t like the East, the West, the North and basically anywhere that is not 5 minutes away from Braddell and AMK Ave 1 exits and the list goes on. So every time we view a new place, we leave with a longer list of things we don’t like.

For the longest time, I’ve always wanted to stay at Cairnhill. I met up with Simin earlier this week in town and she walked back to J’s place while I had to drive home and I came to the conclusion that I still want to stay in town. But money doesn’t grow on trees and also, he insists nobody will visit us because they have to pay $2 worth of ERP.

And after seeing almost all the new projects around our area - Archipelago, Cardiff Residence, Urban Residence, Bartley Residence, Seletar Park Residence (seems like Residence is quite a hot word these days along with strange foreign names for housing projects), Casa de Cambio,  Terrasse, Minton – we decided that resale is more our thing, maybe. Which means a whole new round of research and weekends talking to property agents.

And no, we’re not getting married yet.  I just like to join this whole bandwagon my friends are all on to talk about psf, rental yields and interest rates over dinner and drinks.

In other news I cut my hair to the shortest it’s been for the past 5 years! It’s about shoulder length and I think I look 10 years younger (Simin exclaimed at the salon that I look like a ‘small girl‘). It’s amazing how a hair cut can be so therapeutic. Spending 2 hours in a hair salon gossiping with your girl friend while they do all the scalp and hair treatment and colour stuff is way better than seeing a psychiatrist me thinks.

I went to China and back and had an amazing weekend last week that I haven’t gotten down to writing about it.

China was actually pretty good. It was cold, but not too cold, so it was comfy enough with a fuzzy jacket and boots. I love my Uggs <3 Had way too much pork and salt and oil for my liking and I’ll very much prefer to stay away from Chinese food for at least a month or two. And I came back from China with a scratchy throat which has now developed into aching muscles and chills.  I absolutely hate falling sick. Meh.

The girls and I met up on Friday after I landed and in between mouthfuls of som tum and tom yum, we bitched and laughed in a Sex and the City sorta way. So therapeutic.

Last weekend, the boy and I went on a 48-hour date. Breakfast at Riders, staycation, Wicked, drinks at Clarke Quay and a good Japanese brunch the next day. A stark contrast to this weekend’s property viewing (ulu ulu Bedok), supermarket shopping (at Heartland mall) and dinner at the boy’s favourite coffee shop at Lorong Ah Soo.

And working my ass off the rest of the weekend.

Tonight the boy goes for the wedding dinner, while I have a mahjong game with quite the best khakis around. We’ve been doing this weekend mahjong thing almost every week, and it’s a good break from all the accounts, logistics and million emails.

Our weekends have been kinda meh of late – in between the errands (I started on invisalign and going to the dentist so often is no fun), his school work and property viewing (no we’re not getting married), we hardly have time for dates. I kinda miss those Friday nights we used to have not too long ago – a good dinner with lots of laugh, followed by lots of alcohol, usually at the clubs.

I had some time for myself this morning though, a good break in a really long while. I made a hot chocolate, scooped myself a huge bowl of cookies and cream ice cream and caught I Don’t Know How She Does It and half of SATC season 6. The boy’s not a fan of Sarah Jessica Parker so I usually have to watch her shows without him. 4 hours and too much sugar later, I find myself stricken with guilt for abandoning work and so here I am, going to spend my Saturday afternoon working my ass off.

I want to go on a holiday so very badly. The thing is, I already travel so much for work and the boy has so little leave now that he’s studying, it’s quite almost impossible for us to go away. We’re catching Wicked next weekend and I’m thinking of turning the whole day into a date.  You know, breakfast at Rider’s followed by a good staycation, Wicked and champagne brunch the next morning.

ANYWAY.
