Guess who settled her year end holiday plans today!

I’m a huge fan of Sushi Express in Taiwan! I fell in love with the chain last year when Siew and I went to Taiwan for work. It’s really very good! Everything there is served at NT20 a plate if I’m not wrong, so it’s like, 80cents for sashimi (I don’t take this but the boy loves it), fake abalone (NOM NOM NOM) and all sorts of sushi. I particularly like nonsense sushi in general, like corn sushi, california maki and the likes.

So you can imagine how happy I was to hear that Sushi Express is now in Singapore. The boy decided to bring me there instead of 2nd mini steamboat (so sweet!) for dinner the other night. They’re located at CitiLink mall – kind of a bitch to drive and park there (we drove my car and paid $4 worth of ERP) but anything for food. The place looks EXACTLY like Sushi Express Taiwan and food quality’s the same which is pretty decent. Like wayyyyyyyy better than Sakae Sushi. BUT (ya.. you should have known the but’s coming):-

1) They have a much smaller range than Taiwan Which is fine because I already know what I want to eat! BUT the sad thing is they don’t have a menu that allows you to order what you want! You basically have to take everything off the belt but they kept circulating boring stuff like Lady’s Fingers(!!!) and I had to tell TWO waiters that I wanted my fake abalone thing but they just didn’t serve it to me. Thank god I saw it at the other side of the conveyor belt twice so I got the boy to quickly quickly take the plates for me. But throughout the 45min I was there, I only saw that two plates of fake abalone And ONE plate of edamame which went to me of course.

2) It’s priced at SGD1.80 per plate here. Still very reasonable but part of the thrill of eating it in Taiwan is that it’s SO CHEAP, you know?

2nd mini steamboat tonight!

I suppose I could get very used to the idea of the boy being in school. More dinner dates and J had told me she bought a PS3 to keep her husband at home on his off day while she’s at work. I can save my PS3 money, tutorials are doing a good job for now. He doesn’t even have enough time for WoW.

I tried to help the boy with some dy/dx nonsense and omg, are Level 1000 modules supposed to be SO TOUGH? I’m fairly sure I sailed through my calculus class in year 1 effortlessly :/

So much more to write, but my body is insanely itchy atm. Shower time

Today, Simin and I attended a Chanel tea party which turned out to be a cupcake workshop too.

And what’s a tea party without food?

I wish I managed to try more of these stuff. I had the cheesecake and one macaroon and both were pretty good!

The mini plain cupcakes we started with and making leaves from fondant. It was tough – Simin and I both concluded that we suck at art and coincidentally, when were kids, it was our parents who did our art homework for us LOL. What’s gonna happen when we have kids of our own?!

P.S. I’m watching the boy slave away with some excel-graphs-physics-insane mathematics formulas tutorial as I type this entry and I don’t know if I can ever go back to studying.
