In other news, I checked out the terracotta army display at the Asian Civilisations Museum yesterday and I loved it! (but the boy hated it by the way) There were too many people there, most probably cause it’s the opening weekend and I expect the crowds to get smaller over the weeks.  The display’s kinda small but good enough and I hope to check out Xi’an one day! I’d wanted to spend more time in the ACM checking out the other permanent exhibitions, especially the galleries about the Islamic world but the boy was sulking and dragging his feet around (sounds like a 5yo lol) so we decided to call it a day.

pain

Omg I just had a most painful online shopping experience ever while trying to order a rubber stamp online. Totally understand the importance of an efficient e-commerce platform now!

The boy’s doing overnight duty today which is actually pretty good considering the amount of work I have to clear. Can’t wait for TGIF plans tomorrow. I’m tasked with finding us a good dinner place for tomorrow cause I’m buying dinner but there’re so many places we’ve NOT been to, I can’t come to a decision :( The boy can be quite a food connoisseur so we tend to stick the usual tried & tested places.

I suddenly remembered The Hunger Site that I used to frequent when I was younger thinking I’ll help some kid, one click at a time. I haven’t visited the site in years, and I still don’t know if it’s really legitimate but it wouldn’t hurt to spend a couple of seconds clicking a button yeah :) And if you can afford it, I really support the World Vision’s Sponsor a Child project :D

I can’t decide.

I can’t decide if I should sleep cause it’s kinda past my bed time at 2346 hours, but I’m not really sleepy and I kind of want to stay up to wait for the boy’s call cause we didn’t get to talk at all yesterday night too. Long work days suck :(

yawn

Insanely tired. I think living separately is one of the most tiring things in this world. We’re both used to driving around so suddenly me not having my car with me all the time and him having to send me back at the end of a long day is really very exhausting. I ended up taking a cab back yesterday night cause he just didn’t have the energy at all and the day before, I had to take a BUS back cause I really couldn’t get a cab. Thank goodness we live only two bus stops apart and apparently, it now costs SGD1 for two stops!

I met up with Simin for a quick lunch. I love how the girl friend and I always have such impromptu afternoon meetups for pastries and tea as we update each other about our lives and talk about weddings and sweet young things. Sweet young nubile 18 year old girls who on the contrary, are not attractive cause they know nothing about the world out there and yet want everything. It’s about being in the same stage in life we decided, and that’s why a 5 year age gap when you’re 30/35 is fine but the same age gap when you’re 21/26 is not.

Okay, back to work.

fridayyy

Okay the post’s titled Friday cause it was drafted last Friday but I didn’t get to find the time to complete it zzz

Before you talk, listen.

Before you react, think.

Before you criticise, wait.

Before you quit, try.

I super like this quote. There was a “Before you pray, forgive.” line in it too, but I don’t quite like it so I decided to omit it. No offense intended to Ernest Hemingway.

Anyways, the boy and I did have a fight of sorts last week. Actually it isn’t really a fight cause well somehow I can’t really get angry with him and we don’t really do the curse your mother/scold your father/you fuck off and rot in hell sorta thing. I’d like to think it’s because we’re both very nice people hurhur. But all’s good, we’re talking about a holiday before he starts school but I don’t dare to get my hopes too high cause realistically, we’ve only 6 weeks before the term begins. We got down to talking about destinations last night (sometimes it’s good to daydream a little) – I wanted somewhere along the lines of Jakarta/ Manilla/ Ho Chi Minh for a change, he wanted Hong Kong again. You know, I really want to do a roadtrip but we can’t afford the time for a US or Aust trip at the moment.

I’ve moved back home and while it can get quite sian to not be able to meet every day cause of our conflicting work schedules, I quite like how it feels like our early dating days. Picking me up at my door step and sending me back after dinner and drinks, late night phone calls when we finally end our day, quick lunches when we both happen to be free and MOVIE DATES. Haha. We’ve ditched the TV and we’ve caught more movies in this past month than we did in the past year lol.

This weekend has too much feasting lined up. Work lunch today at Imperial Treasure MBS, crabs and durian buffet dinner tomorrow, Fathers’ Day dinner with the boy’s family on Saturday, Fathers’ Day lunch with my family on Sunday followed by buffet at MBS with the boy’s family and godma.
